Description

Bringing her debut album to Ninja Tune, rising DJ and producer Elkka presents Prism of Pleasure, an exploration of sensuality and queerness, and a celebration of pleasure in all its forms- sensual, sexual, aural, deprived, creative, painful, political, the list goes on- it is this prism that acts as the lens through which Elkka sees the world.

Prism of Pleasure brings Elkka’s voice to the fore, with collaborations from John Carroll Kirby (Frank Ocean, Solange, Harry Styles), Dot Major (London Grammar) and additional writing/production from Tim Bran (Scissor Sisters, Kylie Minogue) and Ash Workman (Metronomy, Christine & The Queens).

Gorgeous visuals for the album and accompanying live show delivered by prominent design studio DR.ME (Mick Jagger, Evian Christ, Ela Minus), whose work has been exhibited at London’s V&A Museum and LA’s Museum of Contemporary Art.

Elkka’s debut follows the recently released limited “DJ Friendly” White Label, which hit #23 in the OCC Top 40 Official Vinyl Singles Chart, and her contribution to the legendary DJ Kicks compilation series, which featured contributions from Herbert, Gerd Janson, Paula Tape, Villager, Peder Mannerfelt, Hodge, Mark Pritchard, and more.

Elkka’s incredible live show is a must-watch and her DJ sets draw huge crowds (at Glastonbury 2023 she played the Arcadia stage, sharing the billing with The Chemical Brothers, Floating Points B2B Daphni and Sherelle, with 2 other sets (at Stonebridge Bar with Dan Shake and a secret Platform 23 B2B set with Eliza Rose).

Elkka has previously received US radio support from the likes of KEXP, KCRW, KUCI & more. Singles have also charted on the NACC charts with the major support across college & community stations. Elkka is confirmed for a 7 page spread in the S/S edition of famed publication Disco Pogo and a double page spread in CLASH’s March issue.
