Co-produced by Muse and Robert John "Mutt" Lange, the album contains 12 tracks including the single "Dead Inside." Frontman Matt Bellamy explains the album's themes, "To me, 'Drones' are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behavior with no recourse.
